The Cadet Chapel at the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado is one of the top man-made tourist attraction in Colorado.

surrounding mountains are visible through the windows in the chapel in the photo above. All the photos are from my visit in 2010. More than a half million visitors see the chapel every year. Groundbreaking began on the chapel in 1959, and it was completed in 1963 at a cost of $3.5 million. The chapel's aluminum, glass and steel structure soars more than 150 feet into the Colorado sky with a total of 17 spires.
