Very nice location just outside the old city near good food options and a grocery store. Easy walk to the old city (see our map of Chiang Mai).

Large buildings with many units so often has rooms available. Fairly cheap, though you can get cheaper. The rooms are a bit dated and scruffy (to me) but are a good option for cheap but with good options.

Wifi options sound good on paper (I haven't tried it so I am not sure how it really work); free for something like 1 Mb/sec and for less than US$10 a month you can get 3Mb I think.

This photo shows a bedroom in a 1 bedroom unit. You can see they are fairly decent, it isn't as obvious from the photos but the feel is more run down than many of the newer places that are a bit fancier.

Monthly prices 4,000 (24 square meters) to 16,000 baht (47 square meters) (from Jan 2015 ~32 baht = US $1). Rates 1,000/month higher for shorter than 3 month stay.
