Marina Bay Sands was the second of two big budget casinos to open in Singapore 2010. Singapore had not allowed casinos before then. Within a year of opening however, Singapore, had the 2nd largest grossing casino revenue of any area in Asia (Macau was first).
TheMarina Bay Sands casino is housed in a striking monument that resembles 3 seperate 55 story high rises with a ship resting on top of all 3 like a table top on legs. The casino reort overlooks Singpore harbour. The casino features over 2,500 hotel rooms, a convention center, an ice skating rink, an art and science museum and 500 tables for gambling and 1,600 slot machines.

Singapore declined to allow casinos for years and in opening these two casinos the government is still seeking to contain any damaging results. As part of that they discourage frequent visits to the gambling areas by requiring Singaporeans to pay a $100 daily entry levy. They can purchase an annual pass for $2,000. About a third of visitors to the Marina Bay Sands casino are Singaporeans and permanent residents.
Adjacent to the Casino are the Science and Art Museum and amazingGardens by the Bay.
