Prambanan Temple
Prambanan temple is a world heritage site in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The 9th century Hindu temple complex offers a wealth of stone temples with wonderful carvings.
The complex is located near Yogyakarta; 20 km from the center of town. In addition to the main complex of temples several other sites are within 1 km (all within the same park site). Prambanan, like Borobudur is not to be missed.
The Sewu temple site (within the park) is very impressive. It is under heavy construction with piles of stones representing about 70 small temples. One large temple and several other small and medium sized temples are in place now. They seemed to be in the process of putting up many more of the temple ruins while I was visiting.
